Kuro Bar & Dining
Modern Japanese Izakaya Experience
About Kuro
Located in a heritage-listed 1910 sandstone building on Kent Street in Sydney’s CBD, Kuro Bar & Dining offers a sophisticated modern Japanese dining experience. The restaurant celebrates the art of kintsugi—the Japanese technique of repairing broken pottery with gold—reflected in the gold-filled cracks of the venue’s concrete floors.
Led by Executive Chef Taka Teramoto, who honed his skills at Michelin-starred restaurants including Restaurant Pages in Paris and Florilège in Tokyo, Kuro blends Japanese precision with bold Australian produce. The venue features a 40-seat dining room, an intimate 8-seat bar, and a commitment to a root-to-stem philosophy that honors every ingredient.
