About
Prefecture 48
Sydney’s Premier Japanese Culture Dining Precinct
About Prefecture 48
Prefecture 48 is Sydney’s most ambitious Japanese dining destination, housed in a stunning three-storey heritage-listed Victorian warehouse at 230 Sussex Street. Inspired by Japan’s 47 diverse prefectures, this innovative precinct by the acclaimed Azabu Hospitality Group brings together six distinct venues under one roof, each showcasing a different facet of Japanese culinary culture and artistry.
From the moment you enter, the design concept of “ukiyoe” or “floating world” flows throughout all spaces, complemented by bespoke artworks commissioned from Japanese artists. The precinct features four restaurants, an exclusive whisky bar, and a French-Japanese patisserie, all surrounding a central courtyard perfect for events and al fresco dining.
