At Akti, Greek kindness and Sydney’s famous waterfront come together. This stylish Greek restaurant is hidden away on the pretty Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf. It’s part of the wellknown Sydney Restaurant Group. You can eat both traditional Mediterranean food and modern Australian food there. It’s a nice place to eat, but not too fancy. Finger Wharf is a heritage site on the harbour that is just as unique to Sydney as Akti, which opened in June 2025. It is where many Greek immigrants first came to Australia by boat in the 1950s.

The Drakopoulos family has been working in restaurants in Sydney for 45 years. Akti is a very personal journey for them to celebrate their Greek ancestry. The restaurant is a great example of filoxenia, the Greek custom of always being friendly and welcoming. Every visit feels like a celebration with great company, delicious food, and stunning views of Sydney’s harbour.

The great food at Akti was made by the famous chef Ntinos Fotiniakis of Bungalow 7 in Athens. The head chef, Robert Judd, has worked at well-known Greek restaurants like Hellenika and SK Steak & Oyster. The dishes, which use seasonal, fresh Australian vegetables with strong, soulful flavours, bring to mind Greek coastal food.
